naniq was born when two women from León met. We come from different worlds. We saw the same need: when it comes to your children, trusting someone should not come down to luck.

We were both interviewed and told the story behind naniq. The video is being edited.
The first time Patricia left her children with a stranger, she closed the door and went to work with her phone in her hand. She had a name, a number and a friend’s word. Nothing else.
The knot in her stomach did not go away all day.
And deciding who gets hired is exactly what she does. It is her trade. She knows what to ask. She knows what people leave out in an interview. She knows when a reference was written just to be polite.
That day none of it helped.
She hired nannies several times, and it was always the same: a Facebook group, a friend of a friend, a phone number somebody passed along. Nobody checked anything. And when something went wrong there was someone to call, but nobody took responsibility and the service never got better.
The worst part was not the scare. It was getting used to it.
Her first idea was to do it herself: interview, verify and follow every nanny, one at a time.
Cristina raised two objections. First: choosing who walks into a home is far too delicate to depend on one person’s memory. A family’s children are at stake, and so is the nanny’s safety. The second one stung more. Doing it by hand would eat exactly what she was after: time with her kids.
So she automated the filter Patricia had designed, and added steps to it. Background checks, certifications, references, a judgement assessment, psychometric testing and a socioeconomic study. Of every three applicants who reach the end, one gets in. Everything a document or a record can confirm is checked by the platform, and every step leaves a trail.
Not the video call. That step is always done by a person, not a system, and that is how it stays. Whoever gets that far sits down with the verification team, because some things do not fit on paper.
Patricia also added the missing piece, and it came from putting herself on the other side. The nanny is knocking on a door she does not know either. She also wants to get home early. That is why the filter runs both ways: the team verifies families too.
Neither of them would have got here alone. One knows who to let in. The other knows how to keep it standing so it does not slip by the third month.

The final verification call is run by the team Patricia trained, with her script and her criteria. The standard does not depend on who is on duty that day.
